Masks

I was thinking of how when you meet people you expect them to be one way and then they end up being totally the opposite. So the idea of masks came to me -again - and I did a series of 3 small paintings, in red, black, and white, where the girls are wearing masks and their eyes are all shifty. They are hiding their secrets, how they really feel, what their REAL motives are, what they really want... the list can go on and on what people hide behind their masks.
I'll post them one at a time... I hope you enjoy them. Hopefully I can get these up and for sale one day, but for now I guess you can enjoy them online.

  2. Interesting work! What did you use as medium? It looks a bit digital, then on the other hand not.

  3. Thanks for the comments - I enlarged a small drawing I did on the copier, then I colored it with colored pencils, then used a regular pen for the hair, acrylics for shadows and highlights, pencil, sharpie, then the final touch was a thick layer of gloss medium. I know it's a lot of stuff, but I guess I enjoy the process of it :)

  4. I so no what you mean about people. My mom would say "she has two faces." One day I was staring at a friend of hers and her friend asked me what was i looking at and I said I'm looking for your other face :)....Love the colors you've chosen!

  5. Hi Margie, I like your work, there is a feel of secrecy and intrigue about the ladies. You use a lot of "stuff" as you call it, but yea I see where your coming from, it's the enjoyment of the process.
